Mariana Batalla

Event Planning Intern

Mariana Batalla is a senior at Mount Mary University, graduating in May with a B.A. in Communication and minors in Justice and Literature. She’s passionate about social justice, storytelling, and community building.

Mariana is the founding president of the LatinX Student Union, where she leads cultural and advocacy initiatives—earning both the 2024 “Program of the Year” and “All Star” awards. She also volunteers at Kinship Community Food Center as a Stride Mentor and co-facilitator for an immigrant and refugee support circle.

In her free time, she loves music, curating playlists, and reading horror and sci-fi—Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is her favorite. Mariana currently serves as DYCU’s event planning intern, leading the Latine Youth Achievement event with excitement and heart.
